The Ministry of Health, Republic of Seychelles, in collaboration with the ECSA Health Community will host the 46th Health Ministers' Conference in Mahe, Seychelles from 25 - 29 February 2008.
Theme of the Conference
Improving the performance of health systems: from policy to action.
Sub-themes
Strengthening health delivery systems to ensure equitable access to health care
Improving human resources for health for effective health care
Improving access to medicines and medical supplies
Cost-effective interventions for disease prevention and control: Maternal and Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS and Non-Communicable Diseases
Strengthening use of Information Communication Technology (ICT) for health care
Strengthening Monitoring and Evaluation Systems in ECSA
Objectives
To provide a forum for member states to review the performance of health systems and discuss progress towards the Millennium Development Goals.
To share experiences on health care delivery systems in East Central and Southern African countries.
To review the progress in the implementation of Resolutions of the Health Ministers' Conference.
To consider, approve and adopt the new ECSA Health Community Strategic Plan 2008-2012.
